On The Road Again

Hi this is the male half,

Over the last few months things have been a little wild for our little family, but this is what I have to share with you.

We are blessed. I know that the Lord loves and watches over us. It chokes me up to think of two short years ago, when our little buddy was born. What a wonder life has become! Through our eyes and through his. We love him and are very, very proud of our little boy.

Five years ago this spring, we started down a path that led us to Laramie Wyoming and Love that lasts forever. I took a job that I knew nothing about and have changed in so, so many ways. The life we have now is better than we dreamed and nowhere near what we expected. It is wonderful and exciting, happy and full of love.

My bride at times remarks "...now THAT'S the man I married! You (husband) have not done (or said) that in a long time."

I think to myself, "am I better for the changes that have been caused by life and the demands of my job?" Or, am I a more assertive, sleepy, well armed, aggressive driver who loves his wife and sons, and has the employment options of my current profession or a hammer swinger.

I believe that I have learned eternal principles at work by watching how twisted life becomes without morals and without the living God.

...By the way, I love swinging a hammer. My tools are at Jason's, my wood is at Lee's, and my workbench is attached to a wall in Kansas. That is sacrifice! (by the way thanks for all of the invaluable help. Without the T town Kaw Valley men I would have been sunk)

The conclusions I have come to are these:

I have an awesome companion. She is hard working and cute. She makes french braids, sippy cups, and maternity pants into this man's perfect woman. She is the kind of girl who gives her all and then tries to give more. She makes our world flow and function. She is my dreams, which everyday, come true.

I have an awesome son. He is healthy and loving. He is kind and strong. He is the most tender little giant in the world. And he is so very sharp and intelligent.

In two or three short weeks we will be awaiting the birth of #1's little brother. I had no idea what was going on the first time, and that has worked out fairly well I think. What a grand adventure awaits. New things everyday. Sights and sounds. Laughs and cries. We are waiting with breath held and landing gear down.

Jake received a harmonica for Christmas. On one occasion he and momma were taking turns playing 'songs' when Jake offered the baby a turn. He held the harmonica up to his mom's baby bump and then said "nice try, we'll try again later." We hope to continue this and make a great duo.

After all of this I find that my eyes are wet and my heart is full. We have the Gospel, the restored Church of Jesus Christ, Temple Blessings, and we are well fed in a warm home. What then does it matter, where we live, or how the years have set our path.

It only matters that we are where we have been led to be...and that our work and our goal is to be like Christ.

Some days the light is harder to see than others, but I know that God lives! I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. and I know that the Lord is leading the way.

We are where we ought to be, and beyond that, well, we'll soon find out.

I found your blog off of Josalyn's. I really wish we would have gotten to know your family better when you lived in T-town. I remember how hard it was for us to make a move away from our friends, former stake and ward. We're happy to know you're doing well. - Amor Pearce
